Why Me?

I was looking for a poem or inspiration message to put in my talk for church this morning. I found this and it touched my heart, so I wanted to share it with you. It is called, “Why Me?”.
Why me,
This is a tedious task, much work.
Not a great tree, my family,
Not any kind of tree,
A spindly twig….
A stunted sapling of little importance,
No forest giant we.
A pause
Ethereal whispers
Persuasive, soft and still.
“Daughter, if you don’t remember us,
Who will?

This was written by my mother and published in a small collection of poems she called “J’ai ecrit”. There are others that relate to family as well. The collection was gifted to my sisters and me for Christmas several years ago.
