    Sheila,

Yes, I do genealogy research. I’ll be glad to see if I can help you. If you send me the basics of what you are looking for (names, dates, places), I’ll do an initial look to see if I think I can help you.

My personal email where I can be reached is gtownma@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

I, too, am related to Chubby Bluebucket and am wondering if you have any information on him. I also read somewhere that his name may actually be Blubaugh instead of Bluebucket. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Tina! I am researching the Murphy line for my husband’s side. I came across your article here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art62782.asp. They are related to a William Ira Murphy whose information I found here: http://msgw.org/alcorn/1940mcprec.html

    Murphy, William Ira
    04-12-1873- Tennessee
    01-07-1940- Corinth, Mississippi
    Wife- Dora Murphy [Age 65]
    Son- John Murphy
    Father- Vasca Murphy-Tennessee
    Mother- Miss. Luttrell
    Salem Church Cemetery

There is a person in your article by the name Arie or Artie Murphy. Is it possible they are one and the same?

I can’t recall if I ever responded to your post. I bet they are the same. I thought Arie might be ARthur Aubrey, but I am guessing you are more correct as I had Dora as the wife. Thank you for clarifying that for me. We learn on our own families and this Murphy line was one of my first to so research on. I’ll go back to revisit it again. Thanks again.

If you want an invite to my ancestry page, just let me know.

Would love to know how your husband and I might be related… I am direct descendant of William Vasco Degama Murphy married to Susan Virginia Luttrell.

        Hi,

You emailed me I think. I think you were going to speak to some other relatives to confirm? I was trying to find out for sure because my husbands family received some conflicting information years ago. When I started looking into it the census records and things I kept finding didn’t match up with what they were always told. My husband is the great great grandson of William Ira Murphy. :)

I AM VERY INTERESTED IN FINDING MY NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CONNECTION. MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER WAS CHEROKEE. BORN AROUND 1879 OR 1880 IN ARKANSAS OR MISSOURI. IN THE FAMILY THERE IS NO DOUBT HE WAS NAI. OF COURSE WITHOUT THE PROPER DOCUMENTS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A BIA NUMBER I AM 77 YEARS OLD. I DO NOT NEED NOR AM I PURSUING A NUMBER TO RECEIVE BENEFITS.(I WILL SWEAR TO THAT IN COURT ON THE BIBLE.) BUT I DO WANT RECOGNITION FOR MY FAMILY. FOR YEARS WE HAD A TIN-TYPE PICTURE OF HIS MOTHER AND FATHER. THEY LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURES YOU SEE OF INDIANS IN THE EARLY 1880′S. THEY HAD YET STARTED DRESSING LIKE THE “WHITE” MAN. HIS WIFE, MY MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER WAS A SCHOOL TEACHER, CORA ALICE McAFEE, (MAIDEN NAME) SHE SPELLED HIS NAME AS CLAIR NISBET. THE LAST REFENCE TO HIM WAS IN SHANNON COUNTY, MISSOURI. RUMOR HAS IT HE WAS BURIED IN ARKANSAS ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY HISTORICAL REFERENCE TO ‘CLAIR NESBIT’ ANY PLACE EXCEPT IN MY GRANDMOTHER’S HAND, THE FAMILY SAID HE RAN ALL HIS LIFE IN A COVERED WAGON WITH HIS FAMILY FEARING THE WHITE MAN WOULD TAKE HIS 9 CHILDREN AND THEN HIS LIFE. IN MISSOURI UP UNTIL 1924 IT WAS ILLEGAL TO LIVE THERE IF YOU WERE AN INDIAQN UNTIL 1924. HE DIED IN 1924. HELP ME IF YOU CAN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORT..

Hi Tina. My brother & I are working on our genealogy & I happen to run across this message feed from you & Shannon Murphy. I am finding her husband and I are related. William Ira Murphy is my great-great grandfather. This is a long shot but is it possible for you to get me in touch with Shannon Murphy? I also noticed you commented on a William Murphy & Susan Luttrell. Unfortunately as of now, I am not seeing that name in our lines.

    Thank you so much.
