I can't remember a time when I wasn't interested in family history. Even as a small child, I'd gaze at the framed family crest my dad kept on the wall and ask questions about the meaning of the symbols on it, and wonder what our last name meant and how it originated. When I was in elementary school, I'd have my great-grandmother sit with me and show me all of her old family photos and tell me who the people were in them (a good thing, as they weren't labeled, so when I inherited them in my early 20's, I knew who was in those photos and could label them myself!).

By the time I was 18, I'd started genealogy research in earnest and haven't looked back since!
